Tracking Settings
Configure email open and click tracking to measure campaign performance and subscriber engagement.
Accessing Tracking Settings
Navigate to WP Outreach → Settings → Tracking in your WordPress admin.
Open Tracking
Open tracking works by inserting a tiny invisible 1×1 pixel image into each email. When the recipient opens the email and their email client loads images, the open is recorded.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Open Tracking | Toggle open tracking on or off |
What is Tracked
- First Open – Timestamp of when the email was first opened
- Last Open – Timestamp of the most recent open
- Total Opens – Number of times the email was opened
- Device/Client – Email client and device information
Note: Open tracking is not 100% accurate. Some email clients block tracking pixels by default, and privacy-focused users may have image loading disabled.
Click Tracking
Click tracking rewrites all links in your emails to pass through the WP Outreach tracking system before redirecting to the final URL.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Click Tracking | Toggle click tracking on or off |
What is Tracked
- Link URL – The original destination URL
- Click Count – Total clicks on each link
- Unique Clicks – Number of unique subscribers who clicked
- Click Timestamp – When each click occurred
- Subscriber Info – Which subscriber clicked
Excluded Links
Some links are automatically excluded from tracking:
- Unsubscribe links
- Preference management links
- Links with
data-no-trackattribute
Privacy Considerations
If you need to comply with strict privacy regulations, consider:
- Disabling tracking for GDPR-sensitive lists
- Including tracking disclosure in your privacy policy
- Offering subscribers the option to opt-out of tracking
Viewing Reports
Once tracking is enabled, view your analytics at WP Outreach → Reports. You can see:
- Campaign-level open and click rates
- Per-subscriber engagement history
- Link performance breakdown
- Engagement trends over time
